EU High Representative to Discuss Ukraine in Washington Talks

Washington: EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, announced on Monday that she will visit the United States on Tuesday for discussions with Secretary of State Marco Rubio concerning Ukraine.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Kallas made the announcement during an EU Foreign Ministers meeting in Brussels, emphasizing that while the United States could engage in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, any agreements involving Europe or Ukraine must include their participation. Kallas highlighted that recent messages from the United States suggest a significant presence of the Russian narrative. Her visit comes amid heightened diplomatic initiatives by the European Union aimed at bolstering international support for Ukraine. This visit coincides with the third anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and marks the beginning of US-Russia negotiations to resolve the conflict without direct involvement from Ukraine and Europe.

In parallel diplomatic efforts, French President Emmanuel Macron has also visited Washington to meet with President Trump to discuss matters related to Ukraine.
