Brussels: The European Union condemned on Tuesday the strikes carried out by the Israeli occupation on Sunday in Southern Lebanon, which caused a number of civilian fatalities, including children.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the EU stated that this incident follows an escalation of Israeli occupation attacks and warnings. The EU reiterated its call for the full respect and implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Israeli occupation. It emphasized that security concerns should be addressed by fully utilizing the monitoring mechanism established within the framework of the ceasefire agreement.
The EU further highlighted the importance of supporting the Lebanese Government's efforts to establish a monopoly of the State on holding weapons, indicating that such decisive efforts should receive backing from all parties involved.
