EKHO announces opening, upgrading factories in Egypt at EGP 1.4 bn

Egypt Kuwait Holding Company (EKHO) announced opening and developing factories in Egypt at EGP 1.4 billion through its affiliated company Sprea Misr which is listed on both the Egyptian and Kuwaiti bourses.

In a statement on Saturday 15/07/2023, Sprea Misr announced opening a factory for producing sulfuric acid in addition to boosting the capacity of a number of already-established petrochemical factories and production lines.

EKHO Managing Director Sherif Zayat said the production capacity of the new sulfuric acid factory will be 165,000 tons annually and about 80 percent of the production will go to the Alexandria Fertilizers Company (AlexFert CO.) which is owned by EKHO.

Zayat noted that Sprea Misr opened six production lines to produce 3 million formica boards annually and their production will be exported.
