Kuwait city: The eighth relief plane in Kuwait's second air bridge initiative to support Gaza has embarked on its journey, departing for Al-Arish Airport in Egypt. This mission is part of the "Kuwait by Your Side" campaign, delivering 10 tons of essential food supplies. The campaign is orchestrated under the "Fazza for Gaza" initiative, which is led by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) in collaboration with several Kuwaiti charities and in coordination with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense.
According to Kuwait News Agency, KRCS Chief Khaled Al-Mughamis explained before the plane's departure that this mission underscores Kuwait's enduring commitment to humanitarian causes. He noted that the mission follows directives from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah.
Al-Mughamis emphasized Kuwait's continued support for the Palestinian people during the challenging conditions they are facing. He highlighted the Society's collaboration with the Egyptian and Palestinian Red Crescent organizations to address logistical hurdles. He also expressed optimism for the prompt opening of border crossings, which is crucial for the swift delivery of food and relief supplies into Gaza, reaffirming Kuwait's consistent support for humanitarian causes.
Since the inception of the second air bridge on August 10, Kuwait has successfully delivered 110 tons of basic food aid, working in coordination with the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company.
