Cairo: Lying along the Nile River in Cairo's western Helwan District, King Farouk's winter rest house, known as Rokn Farouk Museum, is an architectural masterpiece that was built by the late king in 1942.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the museum covers 11,600 m2 and is one of Cairo's hidden gems, designed in the shape of a boat on the bank of the Nile. The museum consists of three entrances and berths designated for receiving royal yachts and large ships.
The facility, which was transformed into a museum in 1979, features a ground floor that includes rooms and service units, and a first floor comprising a reception room, a large fireplace, a dining room, and a bedroom.
