Egypt’s Inflation Rate Rises by 1.3 Percent in April

Cairo: Egypt's annual inflation rate inched up to 253.8 points in April, marking an increase of 1.3 percent compared to March, as reported by the country's Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). According to Kuwait News Agency, a press statement from CAPMAS highlighted that the country's total annual inflation reached 13.5 percent in April, rising from 13.1 percent in March. The increase in inflation is attributed to several factors, primarily the accelerated rise in prices of power, gas, and fuel by 6.7 percent. Additionally, there was a two percent increase in clothing prices, a 0.5 percent rise in grains and bread, and a 1.2 percent increase in both vegetables and household equipment.
