Egypt’s Firm Stance on Nile Water Rights: PM Madbouly’s Statement on Al-Nahda Dam

Cairo: Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly emphasized that Egypt is handling the Al-Nahda dam issue with wisdom and patience. He stated this during a news conference following a cabinet session, reiterating the nation's firm stance on negotiations with Ethiopia.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Madbouly clarified that the negotiations with Ethiopia are not a sign of weakness. He assured that Egypt has successfully navigated the challenges of the dam's filling stages without compromising its water share. Dr. Madbouly highlighted the importance of reaching a binding agreement with Ethiopia and Sudan concerning the management of the water system, particularly along the Blue Nile.

The Prime Minister stressed that Egypt is committed to protecting its historical rights to the Nile waters and will not compromise on its water share. He expressed hope that a satisfactory agreement for all parties involved would be achieved soon.
