Cairo: Egyptian President Abdulfatah Al-Sisi and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa have emphasized the direct link between the ongoing conflict involving the Israeli occupation and Iran and the continuous Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the two leaders held a phone conversation on Saturday, where they expressed significant concern about the escalating tensions. Spokesman of the Egyptian Presidency, Mohammad Al-Shinnawi, highlighted their warnings regarding the potential widespread impact of the conflict across the region.
Both leaders called for responsible actions from all parties involved, advocating for a resolution through negotiation and peaceful means. They stressed the importance of the international community taking responsibility to address the crisis.
In light of the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, the leaders emphasized the urgent need for life-saving assistance to be delivered to the residents. They reiterated their call for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967, borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, as the only assurance of regional stability.
Additionally, the leaders discussed the strong bilateral relations between Egypt and Bahrain and explored avenues for enhancing cooperation in various fields, according to the spokesman.
