Cairo: Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi has extended an invitation to "all free countries of the world" to participate in a humanitarian pledging conference focused on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, scheduled to be hosted by Egypt in April. In his inaugural address to the Extraordinary Arab Summit, President Al-Sisi urged donor countries to contribute to a humanitarian fund aimed at ensuring a decent living for "every Palestinian child and family on par with other peoples of the world." The Summit, convened at a Palestinian request, is currently addressing the humanitarian disaster in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories following recent Israeli aggression.
According to Kuwait News Agency, President Al-Sisi condemned the significant human loss caused by the Israeli occupation forces' aggression on Gaza, describing it as a blemish on humanity marked by hate, dehumanization, and injustice. He highlighted the plight of Palestinian children, stating that "dozens of thousands of Palestinian children lost their lives while others who were rendered orphans look out for you to restore hope, peace and security to them."
Further, President Al-Sisi lamented that the war on Gaza aimed to obliterate all aspects of life and forcefully evict residents from their homes, leaving civilians with the grim choice of displacement or death. Since the onset of the conflict, Egypt has actively collaborated with Qatar and the United States to broker a cessation of hostilities, underscoring its commitment to regional security and stability.
President Al-Sisi reiterated that the path to lasting peace and security in the region lies in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
