Egypt Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Authority Amid Gaza Developments

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Saturday reiterated his country’s support for the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and its role in the Gaza Strip, which, he said, is part of Palestinian territories. The minister made the remark while welcoming visiting Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa, who mainly looked into the latest Palestinian developments, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

According to Kuwait News Agency, during the meeting, they reviewed Egyptian efforts to shore up the Gaza ceasefire and to ensure the implementation of the three phases of the Gaza deal. They also addressed the Egyptian plan for the reconstruction of Gaza without the displacement of its population from the enclave, along with arrangements and preparations for an extraordinary Arab summit due in Cairo on March 4.
