Kuwait City: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr. Bader Abdelati praised Kuwait's role in chairing the governmental negotiations to reform the Security Council over the past years and during the current session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, stated that this acknowledgment came during a meeting between Minister Abdelati and Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Ambassador Tariq Al-Bannai. The meeting, which also saw the presence of the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt, Ghanem Al-Ghanim, highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the two nations in addressing Security Council reforms.
During their discussions, Minister Abdelati expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Al-Bannai's visit to Cairo, which was part of his regional tours. He reiterated Egypt's commitment to Security Council reform, emphasizing that Egypt's stance aligns with the African position as outlined in the "Ezzolini Consensus" and the "Sirte Declaration," while also considering the foundations of the Arab position on this matter.
