Kuwait City: Egyptian Interior Minister Major General Mahmoud Tawfic said on Wednesday that the Middle East is witnessing security deterioration, thus terrorist organizations might find an opportunity to regenerate and expand. In a statement marking the 73rd anniversary of the Police Day, he highlighted the pressing security issues facing the region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Major General Tawfic stated that his department's strategy is focused on addressing challenges arising from regional conflicts and changes. These feuds have created "a fertile environment for illegal activities" that threaten the security and stability of states, he noted.
The minister emphasized that the security deterioration has also led to a noticeable rise in organized crimes, particularly narcotics dealing. The statement underscores the ongoing challenges in maintaining stability in a region plagued by longstanding conflicts and political upheavals.
