Cairo: Egypt and Qatar have jointly called on the international community to take responsibility for ending the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. They urged for serious measures to be taken to provide necessary humanitarian support to the Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering. According to Kuwait News Agency, this appeal was made during a meeting between Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman. The meeting was reported by Egyptian Presidency spokesman Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shannawi in a statement. The discussions during the meeting focused on joint efforts to cease hostilities in Gaza, secure the release of hostages, and ensure unconditional access to humanitarian and relief aid to the region. Furthermore, the statement highlighted the bilateral emphasis on supporting the Palestinian people and safeguarding their legitimate rights to establish an independent, sovereign state as per international legitimacy resolutions. I t also stressed the importance of preserving the Palestinian national interest.
