Dust Storm Reaches Kuwaiti Border, Reducing Visibility Significantly

Kuwait City: The anticipated dust storm has entered the Kuwaiti borders from the west, and monitoring stations indicate a decrease in visibility, said the country's Meteorological Department on Monday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, satellite images suggest that the storm is expected to cover Kuwait for the next few hours, accompanied by strong northern winds reaching speeds of up to 70 kmph, as stated by Dherar Al-Ali, the department's acting director.

Horizontal visibility is predicted to drop below 500 meters, and in some areas, it may be completely obscured this evening, with waves expected to rise more than six feet, Al-Ali explained.

Al-Ali advised the public to remain indoors and exercise caution, especially those with asthma and allergies, and to avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. He also urged highway motorists and sea-goers to stay vigilant.
