DHS: More Than 10,000 “Illegal Aliens” Arrested in Los Angeles Since June

Los angeles: The US Department of Homeland Security announced that the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have made more than 10,000 arrests of illegal aliens in Los Angeles, California since June 2025.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the arrests include individuals involved in serious crimes such as murder, kidnapping, sexual offenses, and armed carjacking. The department's Assistant Secretary, Tricia McLaughlin, highlighted these figures in a press release, emphasizing the challenges faced by law enforcement during these operations.

The operations in Los Angeles have been met with resistance from violent rioters, who reportedly assaulted law enforcement officials and attempted to obstruct the arrests. Despite these challenges, McLaughlin lauded the efforts of the DHS law enforcement agencies, stating that their actions have contributed to making the state safer.

McLaughlin also criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, accusing them of failing the people of California by allowing criminals to remain at large. She further lamented that instead of showing support for law enforcement's actions, Newsom and Bass have been critical of the operations. The DHS maintains that the removal of these individuals from the streets is a significant step towards enhancing public safety in California.
