DHS: 1.6 Mln Illegal Immigrants Left US in Less Than 200 Days

Washington: The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a significant reduction in the number of illegal immigrants across the country under President Donald Trump's administration. In a recent press release, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem revealed that 1.6 million illegal immigrants have left the United States in less than 200 days.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Secretary Noem attributed this decrease to the termination of the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) One App, which allowed over one million immigrants to enter the country illegally. This app has now been replaced by the CBP Home App as part of Operation Homecoming. The CBP Home App empowers illegal immigrants to manage their departure from the United States.

The press release emphasized the benefits of this development, highlighting safer streets, savings for taxpayers, reduced pressure on schools and hospital services, and improved job opportunities for Americans. The initiative also includes an offer from the American people, providing illegal immigrants with USD 1,000 and a free flight to facilitate self-deportation.
