Deadly Blast Claims Lives in Northern Pakistan

Bajaur: At least five people, including a senior administrative official, were killed and 11 others wounded in a blast in Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, officials said. Bajaur District Police Officer Waqas Rafique informed media that Assistant Commissioner Faisal Ismail was among the deceased after a bomb targeted a government vehicle on Nawagai Road in Bajaur tribal district. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the explosion.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the KPK police chief has requested a detailed report and formed teams to apprehend those responsible for the attack. Investigators are currently collecting evidence at the site. KPK Health Adviser Ihtisham Ali has expressed grief over the deaths and strongly condemned the attack. An emergency has been declared in all district hospitals, with medical staff instructed to provide the best possible care to the wounded.

The blast occurred just two days after a suicide bombing in North Waziristan, which resulted in the death of 13 security personnel. This incident is part of a recent surge in militant attacks in KPK and the neighboring Balochistan region.
