Beijing: China and France reaffirmed Friday the need to create favorable conditions for the effective implementation of the "two-state solution" as the only credible path to meet the legitimate expectations for a just and lasting peace and security. This statement was made during French President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. According to Kuwait News Agency, the joint statement by both nations addressed the Ukraine crisis and the Palestinian question. During the visit, China and France expressed their approval of the New York Declaration adopted on September 12, 2025. China, a long-time advocate of Palestinian statehood since 1988, acknowledged France's recent recognition of the State of Palestine on September 22, 2025. The statement also highlighted the recent ceasefire agreement reached on October 9, 2025. Both countries urged all involved parties to honor their commitments and refrain from actions that could jeopardize peace efforts. They condemned viol ations of international humanitarian law, including violence against civilians, and stressed the need for large-scale humanitarian aid under United Nations supervision to ensure effective delivery throughout the Gaza Strip. Additionally, China and France emphasized the ongoing necessity of providing material and financial support to the Palestinian National Authority, reiterating their commitment to a peaceful resolution in the Middle East.
