China Coast Guard Repels Philippine Ships and Aircraft

China: The China Coast Guard announced it had repelled Philippine boats and aircraft that entered Chinese territorial waters and airspace around two islands in the China Sea, as stated by a Coast Guard spokesperson on Friday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Liu Dejun, cited by the Chinese News Agency Xinhua, explained that groups of Philippine sea vessels ignored verbal and recurring warnings by the Chinese Coast Guard. They reportedly ventured into the waters around Xianbin reefs under the guise of fishing.

The Chinese naval forces responded by taking appropriate actions to drive away the Philippine vessels, adhering to "the laws and regulations" after they entered the waters surrounding the island.

Additionally, Chinese television station CCTV, referencing military sources, reported that small Philippine planes violated Chinese airspace over Huangyan Dao Island. In response, Chinese forces issued warnings to the intruding aircraft, compelling them to change course and leave the area.

China has documented ongoing encounters with Philippine ships and aircraft in the China Sea region.
