China and US Set to Engage in High-Level Trade Talks in Sweden

Stockholm: China announced on Wednesday that it will engage in a new round of high-level trade talks with the United States in Sweden from July 27 to 30. This move aims to alleviate the ongoing trade tensions between the two largest economies in the world.

According to Kuwait News Agency, China's Ministry of Commerce released a statement through China Central Television (CCTV), indicating that a Chinese delegation led by the Vice Premier will convene with their US counterparts. The discussions will focus on trade and economic agreements grounded in "mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation." This initiative follows an agreement reached during a meeting between the two sides on June 5 in London.

The two countries have previously conducted rounds of negotiations in Geneva and London, which contributed to reducing the trade and tariff tensions initially escalated by US President Donald Trump in early April. The upcoming talks in Sweden are seen as a continuation of these efforts to stabilize economic relations between China and the US.
