Beijing: China and Pakistan on Monday called for a comprehensive, permanent and unconditioned ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, reiterating support for the Palestinian people's self-determination and the bi-state solution.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this call was made in a joint statement following the Seventh Round of China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue. The dialogue was co-chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Beijing.
They voiced concern over the current situation in the West Bank and urged an early settlement to the Palestinian issue, showing willingness to work with the international community to achieve Middle East peace and stability.
In addition, both sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in politics, defensive security, economy, trade, investment, and culture, along with regional and international issues of mutual interest.
