Kuwait city: Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Khaled Al-Maqamis affirmed the Society's commitment to promoting humanitarian awareness and reinforcing universal humanitarian values.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Maqamis, in a statement on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, emphasized that humanitarian work is a deeply rooted value in Kuwaiti society and a core aspect of the State's approach to aiding those in need worldwide. He highlighted Kuwait's initiatives, both through official and non-governmental channels, which have bolstered its global standing in relief efforts.
Al-Maqamis stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation with international organizations to tackle growing humanitarian crises. He pointed out KRCS's swift response to such crises through targeted aid, which underscores their proactive role in global relief efforts.
This year, KRCS has provided urgent assistance to several countries affected by disasters or conflicts, including Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, and Trkiye. The aid encompassed food parcels, shelter supplies, and sustainable development projects, showcasing the comprehensive nature of their assistance.
Al-Maqamis also paid tribute to humanitarian workers and volunteers, acknowledging their dedication and sacrifice. He reiterated KRCS's ongoing commitment to its humanitarian mission, aligning with Kuwait's belief in the significance of humanitarian aid.
