Ottawa: Canada's Liberal Party, under the leadership of Prime Minister Mark Carney, has emerged victorious in the national election and is set to form the next government. This development was projected by Canadian public broadcaster CBC, indicating a continuation of the Liberal administration.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the leader of the Conservative Party, Pierre Poilievre, has conceded defeat and expressed a commitment to collaborate with the Liberal government. The focus of this cooperation will be to address the challenges posed by U.S. President Donald Trump's trade policies and threats of annexation.
Despite making significant gains during the election, Poilievre and the Conservative Party were unable to secure a victory. The election was heavily influenced by the recent U.S. tariffs introduced by Trump. In a controversial statement on Truth Social, Trump urged Canadians to elect someone who would effectively make Canada the "51st State," adding tension to the electoral proceedings.
