Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan underlined Saturday the significance of shoring up the Gaza ceasefire to ensure regional security and stability. During a phone conversation, both ministers weighed the outcomes of the recent peace summit held in Egypt's Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, along with the Gaza ceasefire deal in line with U.S. President Donald Trump's peace plan, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Egyptian foreign minister emphasized the importance of adhering to all provisions of the deal to ensure a lasting ceasefire and sustainable humanitarian, relief, and medical aid to the enclave. Abdelatty spoke of the existing coordination between Cairo and Ankara to follow up on the implementation of the agreement, in collaboration with regional and international partners.
During the phone conversation, both Egyptian and Turkish foreign ministers discussed preparations for the International Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip in Cairo in November.
