British MP Opposes Israel’s Expansion Plans in Gaza

London: British Member of Parliament Undersecretary of State for the Middle East Hamish Falconer expressed strong opposition to Israel's plans to expand military operations in Gaza. Speaking in the House of Commons, Falconer emphasized that any attempt by Israel to annex land in Gaza would be unacceptable.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Falconer insisted that Palestinian territory should not be diminished or subjected to demographic changes. He called for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and the urgent provision of humanitarian aid, emphasizing the need for a pathway to a political solution.

"We urge all parties to return urgently to talks, implement the ceasefire agreement in full and work towards a permanent peace," Falconer stressed, highlighting the UK's commitment to using its diplomatic influence to end the conflict and alleviate suffering.

Falconer also criticized the use of humanitarian aid as a political tool, urging Israel to comply with international law by allowing the unhindered passage of aid into Gaza. He condemned recent Israeli strikes on humanitarian workers, infrastructure, and healthcare facilities, calling for greater protection for civilians and accountability for those responsible.

The statement comes in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement that the Israel Security Cabinet has approved plans to expand and intensify military operations in Gaza, which could potentially lead to a full military occupation of the Gaza Strip.
