Blast Leaves Five People Dead, Including Children in SW Pakistan

Kuwait City: At least five people, including three children, were killed while several others received injuries in a blast targeting a bus carrying students in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, said the military on Wednesday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement by Pakistan military's media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed that three children were among five dead, while several others were injured when a bus carrying students was targeted in a blast in Balochistan's Khuzdar district. The military accused India of orchestrating the attack, stating that the incident was a cowardly act planned and executed by Indian proxies in Balochistan. The statement highlighted the intention of spreading terror and unrest in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) following battlefield failures.

The military vowed to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the attack, emphasizing their commitment to exposing the perpetrators on an international platform. The statement reiterated the unity of the Pakistan Armed Forces and the nation in the fight against terrorism sponsored by external entities.

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, strongly condemned the attack on the school bus and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives, particularly the innocent children and their teachers. He extended condolences to the victims' families and urged authorities to swiftly identify and hold accountable those responsible. The prime minister also called for immediate medical treatment for the injured. This incident occurs amid a rise in terror attacks in Pakistan, particularly in the provinces of Balochistan and KPK, which share a border with Afghanistan.
