Bahrain and Qatar Launch First Passenger Ferry Service

Bahrain: The first passenger ferry service between Bahrain and Qatar was officially launched, with the inaugural journey departing from Bahrain's Sa'ada Sea Front on Muharraq Island and arriving at Qatar's Al Ruwais Port.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed expressed that this strategic initiative aims to expand maritime passenger transport between Bahrain and other GCC countries. He highlighted that the new sea route is a significant investment in marine tourism, enhancing the national economy and easing travel for citizens, residents, and visitors. This development is also expected to foster tourism, culture, and social connections between Bahrain and Qatar.

The minister further elaborated on Bahrain's efforts to build an integrated passenger maritime transport network that connects the Kingdom with its regional neighbors. This initiative aligns with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030, focusing on sustainability, competitiveness, and fairness, and adheres to the highest standards of safety and sustainability.
