Azeri Economy Minister Seeks to Boost Trade Relations with Kuwait


Kuwait city: Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov affirmed the strength and solidity of the historical relations between his country and Kuwait at various levels, particularly economically and commercially.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Minister Jabbarov emphasized Azerbaijan’s determination to increase trade exchange with Kuwait, highlighting Kuwait’s important strategic location. Speaking at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in the presence of representatives from the Kuwaiti private sector, Jabbarov mentioned that Azerbaijan has a stable economy and a strong private sector, aiming to enhance the rate of trade and investment exchange with Kuwait.

He pointed out that Azerbaijan’s investment environment is encouraging, with direct support and patronage from the government. During the meeting, the minister showcased several investment opportunities available to Kuwaiti investors in key sectors such as food security, energy, and real estate, expressing gratitude to the Chamber
for organizing the event.

In a press statement following the meeting, KCCI stressed the importance of gatherings that unite business leaders from Kuwait and Azerbaijan, offering them opportunities for cooperation that benefit both nations. KCCI highlighted the shared goal of transforming priorities into tangible outcomes that deepen cooperation frameworks, especially in trade, expand investment flows, and promote sustainable growth for both countries. They noted that while trade between the two nations has grown significantly in recent years, it still falls short of the desired level.

The two countries are exploring ways to broaden their sectoral cooperation and export basket, alongside efforts to enhance market access, certification of conformity, and logistics routes. Targeted promotional efforts in value-added goods and services, combined with trade facilitation, trade missions, and investment partnerships, could further stimulate a more dynamic and mutually beneficial economic exchange.
