Brussels: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said on Tuesday that the approach by some European countries complicates the current situation and makes the diplomatic process difficult. Iran's official news agency mentioned this came during a call between Aragchi and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Kallas.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Aragchi criticized the positions of some European countries and the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi regarding Iran's nuclear program, and for "their support for the aggression by Israel and the United States, and their failure to condemn the targeting of the nuclear facilities." He stressed that Iran did not initiate the war and does not wish for it to continue, saying, "we halted our defensive operations when the Israeli occupation's aggression stopped, and we demonstrated our good intentions."
Kallas confirmed that there is no evidence that Iran is developing nuclear weapons program, while stressing the need to reach a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear issue and the efforts needed to reduce tensions and establish stability in the region.
