Kuwait city: President of the Arab Parliament Mohammad Al-Yamahi condemned, in the strongest terms, on Friday the Israeli occupation's approval of implementing the "E1" settlement plan, east of occupied Jerusalem. In a statement, Al-Yamahi described the plan as a dangerous escalation and a major settlement crime, violating international law and international legitimacy resolutions, including those from the UN Security Council, which prohibit such settlements.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Yamahi emphasized that the plan reveals the true nature of the occupation as a colonial and racist entity, disregarding all international laws and norms. He warned that this move completely eradicates the possibility of a two-state solution and is an explicit declaration to undermine mediation efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire and allowing the flow of humanitarian aid.
Al-Yamahi urged the international community, particularly the Security Council and the United Nations, to take urgent and decisive action to halt the plan. He stated that the Arab Parliament would persist in its efforts to expose these colonial policies and garner international recognition of the Palestinian state. The goal is to support Palestinians' rights and establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Israeli occupation's supreme planning council had approved a settlement construction plan to build more than 3,401 units and a new settlement, further escalating tensions in the region.
