Arab Media’s Role in Sustainable Development Highlighted at GCC Forum

Beirut: Director General of the Joint Program Production Institution of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Sabah, emphasized the critical role of Arab media as a partner in sustainable development. Speaking at the 21st Arab Media Forum in Beirut, Sheikh Mubarak underscored the media's capacity to adapt to regional and global changes and its influence in shaping public awareness to foster societal progress.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the event, held under the theme "Media and Sustainable Development: Partners of the Present, Alliance for the Future," took place under the patronage of Lebanese President Michel Aoun. It convened Arab media leaders and experts to share insights and develop actionable strategies to enhance media's role in supporting national and strategic issues from a developmental perspective.

Sheikh Mubarak urged media professionals in the Arab world to take national stances and disseminate positive messages that align with development goals and societal enhancement. He expressed gratitude to President Aoun, Information Minister Paul Morcos, and Forum Secretary-General Madi Al-Khamis for their efforts in ensuring the forum's success. The event, which began Wednesday and spans two days, marks the first time it is being held in Lebanon.

The forum holds observer status with the Arab Ministers Council for Media and the Arab League Permanent Committee on Media, demonstrating its significance in the regional media landscape.
