Arab League’s Legal Committee to Deliberate Kuwaiti Draft Bill on Hate Speech

Cairo: League of Arab States is set to convene the fifth meeting of the joint committee of interior and justice ministries tomorrow to deliberate on a draft bill submitted by Kuwait aimed at eliminating hate speech.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Maha Bakheet, Chief of the League's legal affairs department, announced on Sunday that the meeting is being held in line with a resolution from the Arab justice ministerial council. The resolution calls for the final committee meeting to address and fine-tune the draft bill.

The participants, who include representatives from the justice and interior ministries alongside other relevant bodies, will engage in discussions on the bill's articles over a period of two days. Dr. Bakheet emphasized that the objective of the meeting is to finalize the format of the bill during these discussions.
