Arab League deplores Israeli attacks, restrictions on Christian pilgrims

The Arab League on Friday condemned, in the strongest words, Israeli attacks and restrictions on Christian pilgrims at churches in Jerusalem.

“These terrorist restrictions and assaults on Islamic and Christian sanctities reflect fascist colonial and racist nature of the Israeli occupation authority,” Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League Said Abu Ali said in a statement.

He lashed out at the Israeli occupation authority’s insistence on undermining sanctuaries and freedom of worshipping, and changing the historical and legal status of holy sites in Jerusalem.

The Cairo-based bloc’s official warned of the consequences of these Israeli aggressions and this serious escalation against Christian holy sites, including denying Christians access to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher
