Cairo: An emergency meeting of permanent representatives at the Arab League is set to be held on Wednesday to deliberate on how to respond to recent Israeli decisions regarding the expansion of settlements in the West Bank.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting has been requested by the State of Palestine and will occur at the level of permanent representatives. The Arab League announced that the session will be chaired by the United Arab Emirates, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the League's session.
The Arab diplomats are expected to focus on a series of recent resolutions by Israeli authorities that involve dismantling Palestinian homes and seizing public and private land. The Israeli government has recently issued decisions aimed at expanding settlements in the West Bank, actions that have sparked significant outrage among Arab and Islamic communities.
