Jerusalem: Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmad Abul-Gheit condemned on Tuesday the Israeli occupation's raid and assault on the Jerusalem headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), deeming it a heinous act.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Abul-Gheit stated that the assault aimed to hinder the honorable role of UNRWA, describing the excuses provided by the Israeli occupation as illegal and baseless. The timing of the attack is significant as it follows the United Nations General Assembly's decision to extend UNRWA's mission for an additional three years.
The raid, which occurred yesterday, involved Israeli occupation forces entering the headquarters in occupied Jerusalem and committing several violations, including raising the occupation's flag over the building.
