Kuwait city: Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abu al-Gheit stated on Tuesday that the resumption of war in Lebanon is "highly unlikely," due to ongoing dialogue with the United States aimed at urging Israeli withdrawal from occupied territories. Abu al-Gheit's comments followed a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Abu al-Gheit highlighted the importance of the US's role in advancing the Middle East peace process. He emphasized that the US is committed to managing the situation effectively, avoiding past mistakes related to the Israeli occupation's handling of the Palestinian issue over the last two years.
Abu al-Gheit noted improvements in the situation, pointing to joint US-Egyptian efforts to assist Lebanon in overcoming its current crisis. He stressed that the US is leveraging its resources and influence to establish stability and peace in the region, with a clear directive from the US President to halt ongoing conflicts.
