Cairo: The Arab-Japanese Youth Forum labeled "bridges of dialogue and culture" kicked off in the Egyptian capital on Wednesday, setting a platform for exchanging views and boosting cultural rapprochement between the two nations.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Mohammad Al-Ojairi from the State of Kuwait, the Arab League assistant secretary general and head of the administrative and finance affairs at the organization, addressed the inaugural session. He noted that Arab-Japanese cooperation has significantly increased since the forum's founding in 2009 and the launch of the Arab-Japanese Dialogue at the ministerial level in 2013.
The Arab League and Japan signed a memo in 2013 aimed at boosting dialogue among civilizations through communications between Arab and Japanese literati. In April 2025, the Arab League Ministerial Council expressed during its 163rd session a keen interest in elevating relations with Japan at the political, economic, social, and cultural levels.
Al-Ojairi stated that the Arab League's Culture and Civilians Dialogue Department called for organizing this forum to facilitate integration between the Arab and Japanese young generations.
