Doha: The Foreign Ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt on Sunday welcomed the steps taken by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas regarding US President Donald Trump's proposal to end the war on Gaza, release all hostages, alive or deceased, and immediately begin negotiations on implementation mechanisms.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Foreign Ministers in a joint statement praised Trump's call for the Israeli occupation to immediately cease bombing and begin implementing the exchange agreement. They expressed their appreciation for his commitment to establishing peace in the region. They emphasized that these developments represent an opportunity for a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire and to address the critical humanitarian conditions facing people in the Gaza Strip.
The ministers welcomed Hamas's announcement of its readiness to hand over the administration of Gaza to a transitional Palestinian administrative committee of independent technocrats. They stressed the need to immediately begin negotiations to agree on mechanisms to implement the proposal and address all its aspects.
The ministers reaffirmed their joint commitment to supporting efforts aimed at implementing the proposal, working to end the war on Gaza immediately, and reaching a comprehensive agreement that ensures the unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, prevents the displacement of Palestinian people, safeguards the security and safety of civilians, and leads to the release of hostages.
They also called for the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza, the unification of the West Bank and Gaza, and the establishment of a security mechanism that guarantees the security of all parties. This would lead to the full withdrawal of the Israeli occupation and the reconstruction of Gaza, paving the way for achieving peace based on the two-state solution.
