Arab Health Ministers Call for Immediate Support to Palestine’s Health Ministry

Tripoli: The Council of Arab Health Ministers has emphasized the need to provide urgent basic health and relief needs, medical supplies, and medicines to Palestine's Health Ministry. The call to action was made during the 63rd ordinary session of the council, held in Libya's capital, Tripoli, with participation from Arab health ministers and representatives, including Kuwait.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the council highlighted the importance of supplying medical and laboratory equipment, vaccines, and other necessary medical provisions. They urged Arab countries to deploy specialized medical teams, particularly in areas such as surgery, ICU, and rehabilitation medicine, to bolster Palestine's health system.

The council also requested member states to support and fund the executive recovery and rebuilding program initiated by the Palestinian government. This program aims to mobilize Arab, regional, and international efforts to enhance Palestine's health system. Furthermore, the council appealed for financial and technical assistance from member states to strengthen Palestine's capacity to address urgent health and humanitarian needs.

During the session's inauguration, Libya's Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh reiterated his country's commitment to supporting joint Arab health initiatives. He emphasized the importance of coordination and integration among Arab countries to improve health systems and services. Dbeibeh stressed the need for unified efforts to tackle common health challenges and promote the exchange of successful practices to effectively respond to health emergencies and reinforce regional collaboration.
