Arab Energy Officials Convene in Beirut to Discuss Future Projects

Beirut: The Board of Trustees of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency convened on Thursday to deliberate on future projects and programs aimed at benefiting member states. This meeting, the 27th of its kind, was led by Ahmad Al-Dosari, the head of the board and director of renewable energy and energy efficiency at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy. The discussions were part of the Beirut Energy Week 2025, which commenced on Wednesday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Dosari stated that the meeting focused on the center's projects and support for member states, as well as other countries affected by consecutive crises. He highlighted the center's crucial role in aiding recovery efforts in countries such as Syria, Iraq, and the occupied Palestinian territories. The center aims to enhance renewable energy and energy efficiency in the Arab region through strategic projects and partnerships with organizations like the European Union, the Union for the Mediterranean, and the UN Development Program.

Al-Dosari emphasized the center's commitment to enhancing the capabilities of personnel and technicians in member states through courses, workshops, and knowledge exchange initiatives. He remarked on the significance of their presence in Beirut as a gesture of support for Lebanon's recovery efforts, particularly in energy projects. This support aligns with the Lebanese Minister of Energy Joseph Al-Saddi's recent declaration of the National Plan for Renewable Energy in Lebanon for 2025-2030.
