Amb. Al-Najem Highlights Kuwait’s Commitment to Clean Energy Transformation at Suzhou Forum

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, Jassem Al-Najem, emphasized the nation's dedication to accelerating its transition towards clean energy and enhancing global collaboration in sustainable energy initiatives.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Najem delivered a speech at the International Forum on Energy Transition held in Suzhou, organized by China's national energy authority. During his address, he outlined Kuwait's strategic approach to balance energy supply security with active participation in the global clean energy cooperation framework.

Al-Najem highlighted the Kuwait Vision 2035 as the national blueprint for economic and energy transition, focusing on income diversification and increased investment in renewable energy sectors, including solar and wind energy, as well as green hydrogen. He reiterated Kuwait's support for international cooperation initiatives such as the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the Global Development Initiative, which facilitate the formation of new partnerships in clean energy and innovation.

He pointed to the Shagaya Renewable Energy Complex project in southwest Kuwait as a pioneering national model in clean technology and energy storage, underscoring Kuwait's commitment to clean energy projects and low-carbon green development. Al-Najem emphasized that energy transformation requires collective action and genuine cooperation, expressing Kuwait's readiness to strengthen partnerships with Beijing and other friendly nations to build a sustainable, secure, and prosperous future.

The two-day forum features participation from more than 50 countries and international organizations, alongside senior officials, specialists, and accredited ambassadors to China.
