Algerian Foreign Minister Warns of ‘Greatest Threat’ to Palestine’s Existence

New york: Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmad Attaf stated on Monday that the Palestinian issue is encountering "the greatest threat in its history," specifically its annihilation. The minister highlighted that the Israeli occupation is openly expressing its intention to revive and activate its "Greater Israel" project.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Minister Attaf addressed the general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, emphasizing the responsibility of the international community to take action. He urged that the end of the eighth decade of the organization's existence must not be marked by pain, tragedies, and catastrophes inflicted upon the Palestinian people. He also called on the international community to protect neighboring countries, particularly Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, from the dangers posed by the Israeli expansionist project and to uphold the two-state solution.

Minister Attaf acknowledged the growing diplomatic recognition of the State of Palestine and reiterated Algeria's call for Palestine to gain full membership in the United Nations. He underlined the necessity for the global community to understand that the creation of a Palestinian state is not merely an option but an absolute inevitability. It is essential for restoring security and stability across the Middle East.
