Baghdad - The Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, confirmed that what is happening in Gaza is a genocidal war waged by the Zionist entity against a defenseless people.
The media office of the head of the State of Law coalition said in a statement, “Al-Maliki received the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Futoshi Matsumoto, during the meeting, Iraqi-Japanese relations and the political, economic and popular ties that unite the two friendly countries, which extend for many decades, were reviewed. The repercussions of the war in the Gaza Strip and its regional and international repercussions were also discussed.
Al-Maliki stressed, according to the statement, that “what is happening in Gaza is a genocidal war waged by the Zionist entity against a defenseless people who want nothing but to restore their legitimate rights to a decent life on their land,” noting that “what this entity is doing has exceeded all norms and international laws, and its continuation of this brutal approach will lead to the expansion of the circle of conflict in the entire region and the occurrence of undesirable results.”
He pointed out "the importance of Japan's role remaining balanced, urging other international positions to play a pivotal role in stopping this unjust war and preserving the lives of the Palestinians and their legitimate rights."
For his part, Matsumoto explained that he would convey these messages to his government, which is also keen to end this war, protect civilians, and find a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
