Baghdad - The Head of the Union of Arab Journalists, Muayad Al-Lami, chaired the emergency meeting of the Union of Arab Journalists, which was held in Cairo to confront the Zionist aggression against Gaza, in the presence of members of the General Secretariat as well as the Egyptian and Palestinian Journalists Syndicates.
Al-Lami said in a tweet that the General Secretariat took the following decisions during its meeting.
Establishing a media platform to expose the media misinformation practiced by the Western media and the occupation media.
Establishing a special fund to contribute to rebuilding the homes of the families of martyred Palestinian journalists and providing assistance to them, and also contributing to the treatment of wounded and injured journalists.”
Prosecuting occupation officials in international courts for the war crimes and murders they committed against journalists and the Palestinian people.
Rejecting the attempts of the occupying entity to issue laws with the aim of closing media institutions and television channels, and the International Federation of Journalists calls for joint action to expose this and the crimes committed by the Zionists.
Requesting the International Federation of Journalists to hold a quick joint meeting to take practical steps to expose what the Zionists are committing and confront Western and Zionist media misinformation.
Demanding Arab media institutions to stop hosting Zionist war criminals, especially those who incite the killing of Palestinians and justify Zionist crimes on their screens.
Denouncing the systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists through assassination and destruction of homes and headquarters of media institutions in Gaza.
Al-Lami concluded his tweet by saying: “The General Secretariat of the Union decided to remain in permanent session to follow up the situation and communicate with Arab and international organizations to coordinate the positions and measures that must be taken to support the Palestinian right.”/End
