Baghdad The President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi opened today, Wednesday, the thirty-fifth emergency conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union to discuss developments in the situation in Gaza.
Al-Halbousi said, during the opening of the conference that held in the government palace in Baghdad, “We meet today under an exceptional and unprecedented circumstance. The usurping Zionist entity has publicly revealed its brutal, racist, criminal face, and its blatant violation of human rights, and of all moral, human and religious values, and universal justice among all human beings regardless of their colours, races, religions and affiliations.”
Al-Halbousi said that the radical solution to this chronic conflict lies in the Palestinian people’s restoration of all their inalienable rights, most important of which is the right to establish their independent Palestinian state with its capital, Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
Al-Halbousi added “In this our emergency meeting that held in these exceptional circumstances, I highly appreciate the sacrifices and steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people.”
Muhammad Al-Halbousi explained, “The current situation threatens to drag the entire Arab region into the furnace of a destructive war, in which statements of condemnation and denunciation will not work. Rather, it requires taking decisive decisions that put a final end to the ongoing attacks and violations by the Zionist entity for seven decades.”
Al-Halbousi said, “We appeal to the international community and the free global conscience to intervene immediately to stop the war, military actions and horrific massacres against our Palestinian brothers, and to work immediately to bring in urgent humanitarian, food and medical aid.” /End
