Al-Halbousi Discusses With The Jordanian PM The Implementation Of The Agreements Of The Iraqi-Jordanian Economic Files

Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi discussed with Jordanian Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh the importance of implementing the agreements of the joint Iraqi-Jordanian committee for cooperation in a number of economic and investment files.

The media office of the Speaker of Parliament said in a statement, “Al-Halbousi received today, Tuesday, Al-Khasawneh, and the ministerial delegation accompanying him.

The statement stressed “the importance of implementing the agreements of the joint Iraqi-Jordanian committee for cooperation in a number of economic and investment files, including the field of industry, energy, electrical interconnection, agriculture, environment, health and education, and security cooperation between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism, drug trade and issues of common concern, as well as cooperation between the Iraqi and Jordanian parliament and coordination of positions in Arab, regional and international forums.

During the meeting, the Speaker of Parliament referred to the support of the legislative authority in Iraq for strategic cooperation and coordination between the two countries, and achieving economic integration for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples. Al-Halbousi appreciated the role of King Abdullah II in strengthening the foundations of cooperation in all fields.

For his part, the Jordanian Prime Minister expressed his country’s keenness to develop and strengthen cooperation between the two countries at all levels, conveying the greetings of King Abdullah II to the Speaker of Parliament. He also praised the state of security and stability in Iraq, which is a key factor for development and prosperity.
