Speakers of the Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, discussed the issue of local elections and the elections for the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Al-Halbousi’s office said in a statement: “The meeting discussed the political situation in the country, and the importance of supporting the government in implementing its program.”
The two sides stressed “the importance of dialogue and coordination to solve outstanding problems on the basis of the constitution.”
The meeting also discussed the topic of local elections and the elections for the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and the importance of supporting the Commission to complete those constitutional entitlements.
