Nouakchott: The head of the African Scholars Forum, Sheikh Mohamed El Hafedh El Nahoui, alongside the head of the Islamic Cultural Assembly, strongly condemned the Iranian attacks on several Gulf states. During a meeting with leaders from the Islamic Cultural Assembly and the Forum of African Scholars, Sheikh El Nahoui reiterated his firm stance against the Iranian assaults targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He labeled these attacks as unjustified, emphasizing the well-documented opposition of these nations to war. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Sheikh El Nahoui expressed that Iran's aggressive posture should have been directed towards Zionists rather than Islamic countries. He highlighted Iran's opposition to the war and its attempts to avoid it, suggesting that the country should focus its efforts accordingly. Sheikh El Nahoui further elaborat ed on the importance of the security of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and Jordan, describing them as a vital safety valve for the Middle East and the Islamic world, including Iran. He praised these countries for their supportive stance towards Mauritania and commended the official Mauritanian position, as reflected in the statements by the Mauritanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He urged scholars and civil society actors to earnestly contribute to reinforcing Islamic solidarity and to foster positive relations with non-Arab and non-Islamic countries that aim to promote global peace and security. In his closing remarks, Sheikh El Nahoui prayed for divine intervention to protect the Islamic world, end the bloodshed, and bring a swift conclusion to the ongoing conflict for the benefit of the Arab and Islamic nations. He emphasized that any conflict or attack on Islamic countries serves the interests of a common Zionist adversary, advocating for unity against this enemy to support just causes, particularly the Palestinian cause, and to work towards the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
