AEO and AGU Formalize Collaboration on Energy Sector Research and Development

Manama: The Arab Energy Organization (AEO) and the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in education, scientific research, and technical development within the energy sector. The agreement was officiated by AEO Secretary General Jamal Al-Loughani and AGU Rector Dr. Saad Al-Fehaid at the university's headquarters.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the MoU establishes frameworks for cooperation in scientific research, the organization of conferences, seminars, and workshops, and the exchange of expertise and information. It also includes training courses and technical consultation, with a focus on environmental issues, innovation, and green technology in the petroleum industry.

The agreement further outlines cooperation in joint research across energy, environmental, and development sectors, supporting innovative initiatives through award competitions. Additionally, it emphasizes the publication of scientific and technical information, higher education, and the promotion of joint activities through media, alongside leveraging digital libraries and modern knowledge resources.

Dr. Al-Fehaid highlighted during the signing ceremony that the MoU represents progress in strengthening partnerships between higher education institutions and regional energy organizations. He noted that collaboration with the AEO would guide scientific research toward sustainable and environmental development in the Arab world, creating opportunities for capacity building and knowledge exchange with leading experts in the field.

Al-Loughani stated that the agreement reflects the commitment of both entities to build strategic partnerships aimed at advancing development priorities in Arab states. This includes utilizing knowledge and modern technology to enhance energy sector efficiency and environmental preservation.
