Kuwait City: GCC countries are keen on a unified security media strategy that would boost regional security cooperation, said Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah on Thursday. This initiative aims to enhance collaboration among the countries in the Gulf region to ensure a safer environment for all its citizens.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this announcement was made in an Interior Ministry press statement after Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf received participants in the 19th GCC Security Media Departments' meeting hosted in Kuwait. The meeting served as a platform for discussing the integration of security media efforts across the GCC nations.
Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf emphasized that security media is a crucial component of the security apparatus, playing a vital role in maintaining regional stability. He expressed optimism that the current GCC meeting would significantly contribute to creating a more secure region.
He highlighted the importance of utilizing the latest technology to disseminate security awareness among the public, noting that media campaigns are instrumental in developing informed societies. These societies are better equipped to make decisions that protect individuals and foster a sense of safety.
Furthermore, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf stressed the necessity of deploying security media campaigns to combat societal issues, such as the proliferation of narcotics and illegal substances. The aim is to use media as a tool to educate and shield the public from these pervasive threats.
